Life is a spiritual journey. I will share with you what comes across my path and I would hope that you will do the same. The stories we share are our hope and inspiration. Our shares are the footpaths of our journey. We need to tell our stories. They are for us, the heart to heart connection, the bond of spirit, the rise of consciousness, the merging into the universe. When we share our stories with others, we share the flame of our love. -- Shobi |

We hospital/caring clowns are skilled at dealing with suffering/death/dying and knowing how to approach people. The clowning we do is called caring clowning as it appeals directly to the heart. It is not coping humor, it is hoping humor. It is a gentle, caring, unconditional kind of clowning. It is this humor we caring clowns bring to "Worlds of Hurt."

We Remember 9/11 Cover of Vol. 6-3 (2001)
From Shobi Dobi: I was in England at a Clown Festival in September of 2001. On September 10th, I returned to my hotel with a reproduction of a painting of a Hobo Clown that I had bought at a clown auction. I couldn't understand why I bought it, but my hand just went up somehow. So I put it against a mirror in my hotel room only thinking "How am I ever going to get this in my suitcase?" It was the above painting (I added the wording later over the Wall Street Paper in the clown's hand which on the original had words about the Great Depression). The next day on 9/11/01 the World Trade Centers fell. This happened in the afternoon, British time, as one of my workshop was ending. When I finally got back to the hotel after watching TV in all the shop windows of the city, I saw again the painting against the mirror. I was stunned. I was totally awed by it's direct intervention into my life. It didn't take me long to realize that I had been given the cover of the next newsletter. It is awesome the help we clowns in community and world service receive from the Universe. All the time in little and big ways!
